My association with teaching English as a Second Language came about quite by chance. After becoming involved in a host family program through a local community college, I discovered a glaring omission in the student’s curriculum – the opportunity for meaningful conversation, in English, with native speakers. I set out to address this need by holding informal student gatherings in my home. These get-togethers quickly grew into the “Conversation Club.”
(2006 – 2008) Conversation Club - with International Students from local Community College – completely self- created course to foster conversation, improve vocabulary and practice thinking in English.

Building upon curriculum of Conversation Club, course content enhanced to include interactive games, guest speakers and field trips in the local area.
